Ibrahima Konate is set to leave Liverpool after five years at Anfield. The 27-year-old had been in talks with the club about extending his contract but could not find common ground and is now set to walk away for free.

Konate has been linked with a number of sides across Europe since the turn of the year, but has yet to decide on his next move.

The France international made 183 appearances since his arrival from RB Leipzig, winning one Premier League title, one FA Cup and two Carabao Cups.

Liverpool face a broader defensive reshuffle this summer. Jeremy Jacquet is set to join from Rennes in a £60m deal, though he has missed the back end of the season with a shoulder injury. Geovanni Leoni is also due to return from an ACL injury. Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez — who has one year left on his contract — remain at the club, though further movement in the centre-back role is possible.

Cover at left-back may also be needed following Andy Robertson’s departure, though Kostas Tsimikas is returning from his loan spell.

Separately, Inter Milan remain interested in signing Curtis Jones from Liverpool. The Italian club have been keen on the midfielder for some time. Jones made 16 Premier League starts this season, with a further 18 appearances from the bench.
