The first leg of UEFA Champions League quarter final this midweek brought one stunning result for the reigning champions, Bayern Munich. The game which was a repeat of UCL final last season but this time the lady luck smiled at Le Parisien. Mauricio Pocchettino’s men managed to thump Bayern 3-2 in a snowy evening. The clash was entertaining too with both sides traded attacks and decent chances. PSG’s Keylor Navas made more crucial saves than Neuer in this encounter and helped them win the game. Kylian Mbappe opened the scoring very early on the 3rd minute followed by Marquinhos’s close range’s strike on 28th minute. The former PSG man, Erick Chopo-Mouting scored a lifeline before Thomas Muller’s header equalised on the 60th minute. However, the draw did not last long as Mbappe completed his brace eight minutes later. Neymar and Co were able to hold on till the final whistle.

This time it was Vinicius Junior who became the spotlight as he bagged a brace. Another goal of Los Blancos was scored by Marco Asencio. The Reds could only reply through Mo Salah. Jurgen Klopp’s men got frustrated when forcing their attack with typical crosses delivery from the wing back. Real Madrid swiftly took advantage of Liverpool defence’s failure to cover the counter attack. Some other two results in the first leg were in favour of the English teams. Chelsea and Manchester City secured a win over Porto and Dortmund.
