The Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina, originally from Odessa, lives very worried because a part of her family is still in her country. Since February Ukraine continues to be invaded by Russia and the conflict does not seem to end.

Physically and mentally exhausted, Elina decided to take a break and will not compete at the end of May at Roland Garros, she explained in an interview. The tennis player assures that this game involves a lot of energy and commitment and that she will not be able to compete as she should.

On the other hand, she wants to keep her foundation running to train Ukrainian children to play tennis. This is Elina's goal until she can return to the courts to play.
