The International Swimming Federation (FINA) has banned the Russian swimmer Yevgeny Rylov for nine months, so he will not be able to participate in any official competition. This decision is because the swimmer attended a meeting organized by President Putin to show support for the invasion of Ukraine.

Rylov, with only 25 years, was a triple medalist at the Tokyo Olympics - two golds and one silver - in addition to having won more than a dozen medals in the world and European championships throughout his career.

The Federation had allowed other Russian swimmers to participate in the competitions if they met certain conditions, such as not wearing any of the colors related to Russia.
