In Las Vegas, Vasily Lomachenko and Teofimo Lopez fought for the WBO, WBC, WBA and IBF world titles.

Before the start of the fight, Lomachenko was considered the favorite. But the boxer from Ukraine allowed too much of his opponent in the first half of the fight. And when Loma turned on his speed, it was too late. Lopez managed to defend until the end of the 12th round, deliver more accurate punches and, at 23, become the youngest undisputed champion in boxing history.

“I’m a fighter. I gotta dig in deep. I knew he was coming. I can’t give him that. They just wanted to put on a show for the fans and they wanted to show and prove to themselves that they are the best in their division. And that’s what it comes to.  I’m just being outspoken. Come that night, he wants to take it out on me, great. I’m trying to take it out on him, too. That’s what makes it a good fight. At the same time, we’re trying to promote the damn fight,” Lopez said in the interview on ESPN.
