The recent summer transfer window has turned to the big names' move for free after Premier League sides sealed the arrival of their new stars such as Erling Haaland and Darwin Nunez.

Those big names who have opted to switch clubs are Germany international Antonio Rudiger, Serbian midfielder, Nemanja Matic and Argentine goalkeeper, Walter Benitez. Rudiger have just signed for UCL Champions, Real Madrid, Matic took the opportunity to work with his former boss, Jose Mourinho in AS Roma, while Benitez sealed his move to PSV Eindhoven.

Rudiger was the key man in Chelsea, especially during Thomas Tuchel's reign after being sidelined by Frank Lampard. The former Roma and Stuttgart defender helped The Blues to clinch UCL, European Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup in 2021. Last season, he featured in 54 games in all competition and contributed five goals and four assists in the process. It was an impressive form for a central defender. In Bernabeu, the 29-year old centre back would be an ideal partner for Eder Militao while Austrian versatile, David Alaba shall be playing wide on the left.

Meanwhile, Nemanja Matic decided to attempt his luck in Italian Serie A by taking the offer from his former manager, Jose Mourinho. The 33-year old defensive midfielder had fallen in the pecking order in Old Trafford in the past few seasons. In 2021/22, he only made 32 appearances in all competitions without scoring a goal and providing four assists only. This is the third time Matic worked for Mourinho after the Portuguese boss' second spell in Chelsea followed by his brief stint in Manchester United.

Meanwhile, the Argentine Walter Benitez opted to sign for PSV Eindhoven instead of extending his contract with OGC Nice. The chance to play in the Champions League could not be missed while his former club will only compete in UEFA Conference League. The 29-year old goalkeeper is a great addition for Ruud Van Nilsterooy's side as he is one of the most impressive goalie in Ligue 1 in the past few years by keeping 55 clean sheets between 2016-2022. Benitez who yet earns national team call-up either from native Argentina nor the current country which just gave his new citizenship, France, despite the rumor that he would be included in Les Blues squad in the future.

There are bound to be more well-known players who would be transferred for free. The likes of Belgium international, Axel Witsel who seems to be on his way to Atletico Madrid, Argentine versatile winger Angel Di Maria is undecided among the choices available, Juventus, Barcelona or Benfica, and also Brazilian wing back Marcelo.

In the meantime, Bundesliga still attracts some players to experience the German top flight. Sadio Mane is the latest one to join. The Senegalese forward signed the three-year contract with Bayern. Die Roeten had to spend €32 million to be paid for The Reds to seal the move. Moreover, the former Bayern man and world cup winner, Mario Gotze decided to return home by joining Frankfurt after two years in PSV Eindhoven. He only bagged eight goals in 47 appearances from 2020. In Frankfurt, he agreed on three-year contract till 2025.
