Manchester United finally returns to the top after several years of absence leading the standings. It is their first time since 2017 in the Mourinho’s early reign. Their win against Burnley on the road last Tuesday was enough to send them back in a higher position than Liverpool, something which has been rare in the past few years. Paul Pogba scored the winning goal while visiting Turf Moor by taking advantage of Marcus Rashford’s pass. They are now collecting 36 points with 3 point cushion from The Reds in the same number of match. Yet, Ole Solksjaer’s men still need to be aware of the threat from Manchester City. Another win in the midweek while hosting Brighton was enough to put them back in a race plus one game in hand with 32 points. The Citizens are currently sitting on the third.
