Venezuelan player Miguel Cabrera got the hit number 3000 of his career after 20 seasons in the Major Leagues. This feat occurred during the game between the Detroit Tigers and the Colorado Rockies which ended with a victory for the Tigers 13 runs to 0.
Cabrera's achievement was celebrated by the entire team, and he received a standing ovation from the entire Detroit stadium. He joined the group of 33 players who have managed to reach 3,000 hits in the entire history of the Major Leagues and became the first Venezuelan player and the seventh Latin American to reach this number of hits.
At 39 years old, Cabrera is also on the list of 28 players with more than 500 home runs in the Major Leagues. These numbers are almost a guarantee that the Venezuelan player will enter the hall of fame once he retires from the sport.
