Two Premier League sides, Manchester United and West Ham, have found themselves grouped with fairly easy opponents in Europa League and Conference League 2022/23 respectively.
Manchester United who have regained their form in the domestic competition after their victory over Liverpool last weekend, are likely to have no difficulty to advance to next round in Europa League after the group stage draw is completed. Erik Ten Hag’s men will only face off Sheriff Tiraspol, Omonia Nicosia and Real Sociedad. They will start their continental campaign in this second tier competition by hosting Mikel Oyarzabal and Co on September, 8.
Meanwhile, The Gunners is drawn with slightly tougher opponents in this competition. Mikel Arteta’s side are set to take on PSV Eindhoven, Bodo/ Glimt and FC Zurich. They are tipped the favorite to clinch the title along with The Red Devils and two Roma-based Italian clubs, Lazio and the champions of UEFA Conference League last season, AS Roma. Lazio is set to face off ECL runner-up in 2022, Feyenoord, plus Austria’s Strum Graz and Midtylland, whereas Jose Mourinho’s Roma is set to take on Real Betis, Ludogorets Razgard and HJK Helsinki. In the second edition of Conference League, West Ham has seen their oppositions after the group stage draw on Friday. The Hammers is seeded with Anderlecht, Silkeborg and Romania’s FCSB. Europa League final will be staged in Puskas Arena, Budapest on May, 31, 2023 whereas the UEFA Conference League final is bound to held in Fortuna Arena, Prague on June, 7, 2023.
