Matchday 25 marks the return of Barcelona on the second on the table. Lionel Messi and Co finally managed to get past Sevilla last weekend. They dismantled Julen Lopetgui’s men 2-0 by Ousmane Dembele’s and Messi’s goal. It was their first victory against Sevilla in the past four meetings. Ronald Koeman made a surprising tactical formation change by switching it 3-5-2, which put Jesus Navas and Co in difficulty to build up the attack due to Blaugrana’s pressure in the midfield. On the next day, Real Madrid which had a chance to topple Ronald Koeman’s men on the second, failed to do so as they were held in a 1-1 draw against Real Sociedad. Los Blancos even conceded first by Portu’s bullet header on 55th minute. Luckily, Vinicius Junior saved them from another defeat at home through his goal on 89th minute. Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid returned to their winning ways after crushing Villareal 2-0 on the road. Alfonse Pedraza’s own goal opened the scoring before Joao Felix’s strike doubled their lead. They are now five points clear from Barcelona and Madrid plus with one game in hand.
