Napoli took the advantage of their contenders’ draw result to climb up to the top of the table this weekend.
Il Partnopei does not seem to waste the time to lead the race this weekend, having found out that their two Milan-based contenders stumbled on Friday fixtures. While Rossonerri and La Beniamata were held in a stalemate by Udinese and Genoa respectively, Napoli picked up three points in Olimpico Roma after crushing Lazio 2-1. The skipper who will leave his club in the summer, Lorenzo Insigne, opened the scoring but their prospective win was denied by Pedro’s late equaliser. Luckily, the game was not over yet and Insigne provided assist for Fabian Ruiz’s winning goal. Luciano Spalletti’s hope for Serie A title is alive again but they will be dealing another hard task next week as AC Milan will be travelling to Diego Maradona Stadium. Both teams have collected the same points whereas Inter Milan is only two points adrift. Next week, Simone Inzaghi could swoop the top post if they can secure a maximum points while hosting Salernitana.

In San Siro, the previous league leader, Milan, was surprisingly stunned by Udinese at their home turf. Sandro Tonali and Co did not even dominate the game despite being able to score the opener first through the Portuguese youngster Rafael Leao on 29th minute. The visitors did not give up and kept piling up pressure towards the home side. Luckily, they have Mike Maignan who managed to anticipate and deny their shots on target. However, Milan eventually conceded as Iyenoma Udogie netted an equaliser after taking advantage of the rumble in the box. The French goalkeeper even was not able to keep the clean sheet.
