Giornata 34 marked Inter’s victory in Serie A to end their trophy drought as well as Juventus’s domination in the past ten years. La Beniamata won easily over Crotone last weekend by two goals to nil. Christian Eriksen and Achraf Hakimi bagged their winning goals. Yet, the decision on sealing the title came on the following day after Atalanta failed to snatch a win while travelling to Sassuolo. La Dea were held in a 1-1 draw by Roberto de Zerbi’s men. Robin Gosen’s opener was eventually denied by Domenico Berrardi’s penalty. Such results put Gian Gasperini’s men in the equal points with their two closest contenders, Juventus and AC Milan, below them, which also put them in a race for the remaining three Champions League spot against the other two clubs, Napoli and Lazio. They have collected 67 and 64 points respectively. Yet, Lazio could still equalise their point to Il Partenopei as Simone Inzaghi’s men still possess one game in hand. Meanwhile, Lorenzo Insigne and Co wasted the opportunity to extend their lead from Biancoceleste as they could only muster a 1-1 draw while hosting Cagliari which are fighting for their top flight safety. Victor Osimhen gave them the early lead but Nahitan Nandez found the late equaliser before the final whistle. The remaining four matches here will be decisive for all of them. A win would certainly lift off their confidence and hope while a draw or loss might endanger their continental target. Here are the remaining four fixtures of those five teams.

Meanwhile, at the other end of the table, there are also five teams avoiding the probable remaining one spot to go down to Serie B since the other two spots most likely fall on Parma and Crotone which have been beyond saving. Benevento is sitting on the 18th at the moment with 31 points. They are only one point adrift from Cagliari above them plus three points gap from Torino and Spezia. Fiorentina can even slip to the bottom three if they fail to capitalise three points in the remaining four matches. La Viola willl still have to take on Lazio on the weekend and a vital encounter against Cagliari four days later. Here are the list of remaining for games of all those five clubs. No wonder that in the coming weeks, the rivalry on the top six and the bottom six will be interesting to see.
