The most popular car competition in the world wants to add new races to the world championship to attract more fans. By 2023 we will see 24 races, a record for Formula 1.

However, this is not the only thing they want to change in the competition. During the current season, there have been three Sprints on Saturdays. These short races are designed to attract more fans throughout the weekend and represent an opportunity to earn more points for the championship.

By 2023, Formula 1 plans to double the number of Sprints for the season. This is a controversial decision, since the organization is increasing the demands of the races, but keeping the budget for each team the same.

Smaller teams can be the most affected by this measure, especially if mechanical problems occur during these Sprints.
