The delayed FIFA Club World Cup 2021 is set to be held in UAE, as confirmed due to Japan's withdrawal from the hosting rights this year. Unfortunately, its date clashes with AFCON (African Cup of Nations) 2022 and FIFA has yet responded it.

The date clash has led to a bigger issue as several teams will definitely lose their players in the squad. The CAF (African) Champions League winner, Ah-Ahly has filed his complaints to the world football governing body.

"Al Ahly SC will send official letters to the Egyptian Football Association, Caf, and Fifa, requesting the three parties to collaborate to resolve the clash of dates between the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2021 Fifa Club World Cup.", Al-Ahly released their statement.

The Fifa Club World Cup will be contested from 3 to 12 February, whereas the dates of the Africa Cup of Nations, which will be staged between 9 January and 6 February in Cameroon.

Ah-Ahly will be losing as many as seven players who are likely to be called up in Egypt, Mali, Morocco and Tunisia final squad, including Tunisian full-back Ali Maaloul and Malian midfielder Aliou Dieng. Meanwhile, Chelsea could be without Hakim Ziyech and Eduard Mandy if Morocco and Senegal will advance to the latter stages.

The Egyptian giant is set to face off CONCACAF Champions League winner, Monterey. If they manage to ease past the Mexican side, Al-Ahly will be taking on Copa Libertadores winner, Palmeiras which clinched their third title earlier this week.

On the other side of the path, Chelsea has the advantage to wait for their opposition in the semi final. UAE's Al-Jazira and Oceania representative, Auckland City are squaring off at the earliest stage of the tournament. The one which thrives in this game will be meeting AFC Champions League winner, Al-Hilal.

It is interesting to see how FIFA would respond it, considering the history of their way dealing with the complaints. Recently, they officially rejected SAFA's objection on the inquiry of a replay against Ghana for the final match of the qualifying round. Bafana Bafana were beaten 1-0 on a controversial penalty. It is believed that there was a match fixing issue in Ghana in relation to the result of this fixture. If such would be their response to Al-Ahly, then they will be definitely struggling to progress to the semi final.
