The US Open confirmed on Tuesday that Russian and Belarusian tennis players could compete in the tournament under a neutral flag... but it did not confirm whether Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic could be in the last Grand Slam of the year.

The tennis player could not compete in the US Open since the United States authorities still request a certificate of vaccination against the coronavirus from all foreigners who want to enter the country; a certificate that Djokovic does not have since he has repeatedly stated that he does not want to get the vaccine.

Djokovic already went through a similar situation at the beginning of the year; when he tried to enter Australia without proper permission and that did not work out very well for the Serbian tennis player. There are still a few weeks to go before the tournament starts, so everything can change for Djokovic.
