Copa America 2021 has just completed its group stage. In the final match of group A, Uruguay finally finishes on the second in the standings after beating Paraguay 1-0. Manchester United forward Edison Cavani buried the ball through a penalty. Such results simply put their contender, Paraguay down to the third and Chile on the fourth. Meanwhile, Lionel Messi netted a brace while trashing Bolivia 4-1. The remaining two goals were scored by Papu Gomez and Lautaro Martinez while Bolivia responded once through Edwin Saveedra. Messi’s brace lifts up his name as the current leading top scorer with three goals in Copa America 2021, which is quite equal at some point with his long lasting rival, Cristiano Ronaldo who also becomes the leading top scorer in EURO 2020 now but with more goals, five. The good news is Messi can still add up his tally while CR7 can not as Portugal has been eliminated in the round of 16. Furthermore, the Barcelona skipper has broken a record for Argentina all-time caps with 148 appearances. He is also the leading all time top scorer in Albiceleste with 73 goals.
