Two unlikely teams in Bundesliga, Freiburg and FC Koln are currently fighting for two leftover UCL spots. However, it would not be easy since they have two more experienced contenders, RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen.

Freiburg managed to pick up three points on the road by 4-3 win while facing off Hoffenheim. Hungary international Rolland Salai opened the scoreline but the home side netted an equaliser through Andrej Kramaric and even took over the lead through Angelo Stiller. Yet, Christian Gunter put them back on the level term only a minute later. Freiburg then turned over the scoresheet as Lucas Holler and Jeong Woo-yeong found the back of the net. Luckily, they could hold on to keep their opposition at bay and only conceded once through Sebastian Rudy. Vicenzo Grifo and Co are now sitting on the fifth with three points behind Bayer Leverkusen who just secured a convincing 2-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt on Monday.

Meanwhile, FC Koln were on the verge of returning to Europe after dismantling Augsburg 4-1 in away fixture last weekend. Their winning goals were scored by Jan Thielman, Mark Uth and Anthony Modeste who bagged a brace. Stefan Baumgart's side is now sitting on the sixth with 52 points, or three points adrift from Christian Streich's men, whereas RB Leipzig is above them collecting 54 points. They had a chance to climb up to the fourth. Yet, Peter Gulacsi and Co slumped to a 3-1 defeat while travelling to Borussia Park on Monday.

With two games remaining, Leipzig and three other sides, Freiburg, Koln and Bayer Leverkusen are in a tough race for two spots. Freiburg and Koln are not the favourites since they have never qualified to Champions League before. So should they clinch the spots,  it would their debut in the continental top flight.
