Bundesliga: Bayern Comfortable on the Top, Dortmund Lost Again

2021-01-22 Bundesliga

Spieltag 17 Bundesliga marks the return to normal days in German top flight. Bayern was comfortable again on the top of the table with four points clear after a narrow win over Augsburg last weekend. Die Roeten had to rely on Robert Lewandowski’s penalty to pick up three points on the road. Unfortunately, their contender, Borussia Dortmund, has been unable to find consistency this season under the caretaker Edin Terzic. They suffered a 1-2 loss while taking on Bayer Leverkusen. Marco Reus and Co conceded first by Moussa Diaby on 14th minute, but then Julian Brandt found the equaliser on 67th minute. Unfortunately, their prospective point slipped out of their hand as Florian Wirtz found the back of the net on 80th minute. The Yellow and Whites are still stuck on the fourth while Leverkusen has three points cushion above them. Another Bayern’s rival, RB Leipzig, secured a necessary win over Union Berlin to keep them on the second. Emile Forsberg bagged the only goal of the match.
