Swedish athlete Arman Duplantis has set a new pole vault record.
At the stage of the “Diamond League” he jumped 6.15 meters, breaking the record by a centimeter. Thus, Duplantis beat Sergei Bubka’s 26-year-old achievement. In 1994, Olympic champion Sergei Bubka jumped 6.14 m.
“World record – finally! It is soo cool. I wanted to get over these 6.15m so badly. Everybody kept talking about it, it was a big chip on my shoulder and I feel I had to do it to have people stop asking me this question. When I did it, it was more relief than joy”, Duplantis said.
Congratulations to @mondohoss600 for breaking my record!
